The Only Way

This is an evangelic website proclaiming Jesus Christ as the ONLY WAY to Heaven.

The three Heavens

People often ask "Where is Heaven?" but don't always get a clear answer to their question.

The Scriptures speak of three Heavens

The First Heaven.

From the above chart we can see the three different Heavens mentioned in the Scriptures. The first Heaven is shown on the chart as C, our atmosphere or blue sky we can see here on earth. This Heaven is mentioned in Acts 14:17 "...gave you rains from heaven". We will see that this Heaven will be a special place for a gigantic meeting which will take place soon! More on this under the topic "The Rapture". This realm of the First Heaven is a hive of activity with both God's angels and Satan's demons at work. We might not see them, but they are there. We can find a classic example of this activity in 2 Kings 6:17 where the prophet Elisha prayed to God and asked Him to open the eyes of his servant when the Syrian army surrounded Dothan to catch Elisha. When God opened the eyes of the servant he could see the "spirit world" and saw that the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha, which of course was the angelic army of God protecting His servants.

The Second Heaven.

Looking at the above chart, the Second Heaven is shown as B and which is the Universe where all the planets, stars etc are. Again, in this realm there is a lot of activity going on and great battles being fought between God's angels and Satan's demons. We can read in Daniel 10:13 of one such a battle between one of the angels of God who was sent to help Daniel understand a certain vision he has had, but on his way through the Heavens to the earth was hindered for 21 days by the prince of the kingdom of Persia (this is a demon prince) but received help from the archangel Michael (one of the chief angelic princes) which allowed him to carry on his mission to Daniel.

Mankind has been trying to move into space (the Second Heaven) for the past 7 decades but are still struggling and wasting a lot of money not knowing (or not wanting to know) what the Scriptures says about the Heavens! A quick look at Psalm 115:16 we are soon told that we should concentrate on the Earth and not the Heavens. Let's face it, mankind has made a mess of this planet and it is getting worse every day. We are on the path to what is commonly known as "Doomsday" and if it wasn't for God's intervention no life will be saved. Matthew 24:22

I also believe that this is the Heaven where Satan comes before the throne of God to accuse earthly people of sins they have committed. In Job 1:6 and Job 2:1 we can read how the sons of God (which are the angels) came to present themselves before the Lord and Satan also came among them. Some commentators say that this scene occurs in the Third Heaven where God dwells on His throne, but I would disagree with this as Satan is evil and NO EVIL can come into the presence of God. Just as Moses and Aaron came before God in the tent of meeting, so the sons of God came before God in the Second Heaven at the mount of assembly, in the recesses of the north. Isaiah 14:13

Of course in the middle of the Tribulation there will be a mighty big battle fought in the First and Second Heavens between on the one side the archangel Michael and his angels while on the other side we will have Satan and his fallen angels. But Satan and his fallen angels will lose the war and get cast down to the earth where they will have just on three and a half years left to complete their evil plan.(But to no avail.) Revelation 12:7-8

The First and Second Heavens are also described as the place where evil has its abode. Ephesians 6:12

The Third Heaven.

This is the Heaven where God dwells. Here is His majestic throne and here is where Paradise is now. (More on this under the topic of "Paradise".) It was also to this Third Heaven that the apostle Paul was caught up into Paradise when he had a vision, 2 Corinthians 12:3-4 and heard inexpressible words which a man is not permitted to speak. It is to this Heaven (into Paradise) where the spirit and soul of the "born-again" believer go the moment they die. (More on this under the topic "What happens the moment you die?") This is a place so beautiful that we can not even begin to imagine such a beautiful place. 1 Corinthians 2:9
